UPDATE `me`
tats

UPDATE `me` is a project that deals with information's life cycle.

The user comes upon a webpage that shows a piece of text. She can choose to leave it, modify it, or replace it with something new. When doing so, the old piece of text is utterly annihilated, without any possibility of backing up. Every time the site is thus updated, a timestamped "tombstone" is added to a log in one of the site's sections.

The project distinguishes itself from a standard wiki since the information is destroyed, whereas in wikis, revisions can be retrieved by looking in the history diffs.

The increased availability of cheap storage and content distribution systems often makes us to think of data as something eternal. We seem to forget that digital data dies everyday, making place for new bytes in a never-ending cycle. UPDATE `me` is an allegory of that process.
